A little surprise from good ol' Reck!

Best watched in HD, full screen mode and with decent soundblasters }

The Prime Minister of Pyromania:
This has been our biggest project to date, and also lasted the longest of everything we've ever done. It was also our most expensive project up till now. With all these records broken, it was a guaranteed success.

The name is a little of an inside joke I had with Gorell. We were brainstrorming for a fitting name for the whole thing, and were trying things along the lines of "Lord of .." and "Emperor of .." and "King of .." and "Ruler of ." and so on and so on. Basically we were trying to name it with some authority title that is synonym for having power, or being the leading individual. We realized that all the terms that came to mind were titles from the old ages. Prime Minister is a modern interpretation if you like for someone who is the instated power of a country.

We've tried a few new things this year, amongst one we purchased several meters (like 60 or so) of Visco fuse. We could not acquire the quality we wanted though, and possibly because of this factor + the moist weather, we had to relight the fuse 2 times. Those who pay close attention to the video will see where, although I don't blame you if you don't see it, because I went through great lengths to hide that

If you look closely at the movie, you will notice we had to adjust the angle of the camera several times, because the build up was not only in loudness of the explosions and effects, but also up higher in the sky whilst the fuse continued its way to the ending. I think near the end the effect radius would have covered an entire football field!

As always, this project was composed out of 100% legal firework only. No property of anyone besides ourselves was damaged and nor did we intend to. Afterwards we cleaned up all that was left.

It took me several days to make this movie. This is mainly due because I put much time into perfecting it, but also because my computer can just barely handle the video editing software, and it is also quite bugged (Cyberlink PowerDirector 9 Ultra, latest build). The rendered movie differs from what I have in my project, but I think the program is too bugged, or my PC lacks the power to properly render this project (it has over 5 gigs of media files in it). I can see at least 1 flaw, which is the missing transition when you follow the rows of roman candles from the length to the width. I couldn't be arsed to re-render the whole project again in the hopes it would not make this flaw and not create new flaws while doing so, because it took 2.5 hours to render this one lol.

I'd like to thank all our friends that were there to celebrate the new year with us, and special thanks go out to everyone who donated for this project. Thanks everyone!!

Important disclaimer:
No property of anyone else was damaged/destroyed and nor did we intend to.
We used legal fireworks only.
We discourage you to try this at your home and we are strictly against illegal fireworks, and people who use fireworks to:
- destroy/damage property not belonging to themselves
- physically and/or mentally harm animals
- physically and/or mentally harm people other than themselves

Hi everyone,

It's been ages, I know. We've moved to Exodus and that worked pretty well for a year or 2, but the MC clan never left here, and I still get messages through these boards from the oldies. I've never been very keen on disabling this site, nor deleting it completely for that matter. And now Exodus seems to go dormant slowly but steadily while time goes by it seems this place may serve a bigger purpose in the future. I truly wish that Exodus will hold on a few more years but nothing is certain. What is certain is that I will always have a special band with Renegade and this place in particular, and thus I will always make sure that as long as people play Renegade they will have a place to go to.

What happened now? The domain is now back to its old one: Renz0r.com.
This is the domain that started this journey for me and many others. I was not planning on retrieving it, but JetNet has left me no choice. For the last 3 years I have come across a lot of problems with them. Since Bryan left there, the place has turned into the opposite it was costumer service wise. I've had my account disabled a few times for poor reasons and I've been getting deletion warning mails and got domains deactivated while I renewed them. Today, the 26th of November 2011 both Renz0r.net and Renz0r-Gaming.com were on their last ours before deactivation, and I was not even able to renew them. I've mailed JetNet 3 times about this, replying to their auto-generated warning mails, but I got no reply.

A few hours ago I realized they were going to be deactivated and so I logged into my control panel on their site. Even logging in is bugged. I can see my password in stead of the dots or stars that normally appear on any site when you type your password. Then I click the login button and the page cannot be found. I click the previous page button and click on client area now, and suddenly I am logged in.

I checked my support tickets and none of my mails were listed there. So I proceeded to submit a new ticked, and guess what? I couldn't submit a new ticket AT ALL. It's like my account is semi-deactivated. I tried contacting them by adding a reply to an already resolved issue, but the time was against me. So in stead of waiting it out, I re-registered renz0r.com which is now ours for 3 years from this date. I ended up submitting a reply to an old ticked because I couldn't get the domain to work. While I was doing that, I also received the automatic warning mails that the domains renz0r.net and renz0r-gaming.com were going to be deactivated. I was so frustrated haha!

But eventually I figured it out and changed the domain from the forum. After that I spent 3 hours changing every link of every picture on the forum to not redirect to the old domains. Even your roster and anything else I could possibly think of is now redirected to the right domain. If you happen to find something I missed, please contact me and provide me the needed info to fix it.

Cheers all. Tbh; it feels good to be back on the old domain

I'm a great fan of the Westwood Studios games, and personally I think Tiberian Sun and its expansion Firestorm are arguably the best strategy C&C games ever made, story and gameplay wise.

But being a great fan does not mean I worship the game and everything in it.
Any true C&C fanatic with an honest mind can reckon that the game is full of mistakes.

But not all mistakes are easily spotted.
Some time ago I planned to upload all C&C movies to YouTube, but then digitally enhanced.
This meaning I would denoise each movie and undo them from their pixelly looks.
I straightened the straight lines and curved the lines that were supposed to be curved.
Sometimes I changed the gamma or accentuated a specific color, or range of colors.

But then I started to notice mistakes in the audio and video.
And these weren't the kind of mistakes that were caused by perhaps limited capacities (software/hardware) of that time.
These mistakes were caused by carelessness.
Whoever did the audio for the cinematic movies did a very poor job.

First off what I noticed was that a lot of events (like weapon fire and explosions) did not use the original sound as heard in the game, or used a weak sound, that barely gave the whole movie the impact it should have been given.
And also, for a lot of events, there was not even a sound in the movie at all!

Then I started to notice that a lot of the movies original sounds were not at all in sync with the visual part on the screen.
Machine guns that fired were just standard machine gun sounds, while on the screen it did not look synchronized at all.
I noticed this playing the movies in slow motion, but after finding this all out, I saw/heard it in the movies also when played at normal speed.

From there I started, after digitally enhancing the movie, to add certain sounds.
I use quality software for this, so I could place them very accurately on the right place.
Also did my software allow me to exploit the use of stereo, so if a sound should be in the left or right or somewhere in between, I could make that happen.

I decided to start a project to clean this up and correct these mistakes.
Not because I feel better than the Westwood Studios team that made C&C, and also not because I am hungry for attention or in dire need of kudos.
I did it because I love these games, and I feel honored to be able to continue where the Westwood crew obviously did not get the chance to finish their work.

Now, I've nearly completed all the cinematic movies, and I've shown them to my friends.
And their first response was that they didn't understand why I was so proud because they barely noticed the difference.
I was agitated at first, but when I put the original movie in front of my version, they noticed it.
And looking back, I couldn't have gotten a better compliment from them than for them to experience my version as authentic.

Not convinced?
I will explain in every movie what I changed, and I encourage you to compare my version with the original.

The first movies I will post here I've made it easier for you, by putting the original in there first, followed by my version.
To hear the difference, you'll just have to listen carefully and possibly put your volume up a little.
The see the difference, I encourage you to watch the clips in Full HD and Full Screen mode.

For some movies a description is already available.
I will post the bulkload once everything I have has a proper explanation of what's been edited.

I don't know why, but the server IP changed.
We didn't move, it's the same server.
This probably has something to do with Prulez's request to have his old IP for this server.
To extrapolate; he used to have a server.
Then we merged so we together with him could rent a better one.
He requested to take with him the IP of his old server.
Server company said "sure".
This was back when we moved, and both IPs have worked for me up till now.
But on GSA I saw they were hosted on the new IP (short after the merge).
That's why I posted in my previous news item the IP and port it showed on GSA.

But today the servers crashed and were inaccessible for some time.
Then, I could still not get in when it was corrected.
I check GSA: and saw we are on Prulez's old IP now.

Long story short: Direct Connect users (renip, renconnect, etc) need to change their info.

AOW server stays the same:

As you can see, the ports of all servers remain, of course, the same.

Please pass on this information to your fellow Renegade player.

Thank you for reading.

Dear Renz0r community,

The move of the servers is complete.
Immediately we have had a player boost!
The servers are now hosted much much higher in the WOL list.
And in GameSpy we are even in the very top!

Here is a screenshot of what happened yesterday when I started the server and was testing it out with Reaver:

http://www.renz0r-gaming.com/forum/i...125608adfd.jpg

I hope you guys will check it out soon.
There is some sad news, but also good news about the Coop server.

Reaver and I tried our very best to get the old brenbot to work, but we were unable.
Basically the best chance we had was to install a fresh brenbot on this new server, then try and merge its database with the old.
This has failed. The brenbot would not startup when we did this.

In the end, that means all the old ranks are gone.
But we do have a working brenbot, that works perfectly, cause now ALL commands work now,
!donate, !kill, etc.

The new Coop mod is also much more stable.
This is because the Characters are no longer all Havocs in this mod.
It was a great feature, but I think Zunnie realized it made the mod crash very often.

Also, there are a few new maps/improvements to maps on this one.
And of course a working JukeBox playing music randomly, so not 1 track per map!

And a few new commands like !seen which will display when someone last visited the server.
Also some commands are there for the Jukebox like !music on/off, etc.

Mission DM and Nitro have moved too.
Here is a list of details how to connect:

Mission DM:
WOLSpy: A0000005I
Name: Exodus Mission DM
IP/port: 216.245.208.187:4848

Mission Coop:
WOLSpy: A0000005K
Name: Exodus Mission Coop Beta 3.00
IP/port: 216.245.208.187:4852

Nitro Mod:
WOLSpy: A00000057
Name: Exodus Nitro V1.00
IP/port: 216.245.208.187:8787

And of course we also have an AOW server now.

Exodus AOW:
WOLSpy: A00000002
Name: Exodus AOW (sometimes changes for event weekends)
IP/port: 216.245.195.90:3220

The Forums will stay unchanged until Wednesday.
After that, I hope to see you on Exodus, were the Renz0r Community will continue together with the guys at Exodus.

Your leader,
Reckneya
